I have always been a firm believer in the power of education both in and outside the classroom. After completing my A Levels at King Edwards VI College and BSc in Sports Studies at the University of Worcester I travelled and worked abroad for 18 months. Travelling helped to broaden my perspective on life and made me value the importance of education. Thus, I returned to the area where I grew up and trained to be a PE teacher so I could harbor a sense of teamwork, leadership and communication in others. As my career developed, I worked up to the senior role of Deputy Head. I oversee Behaviour and pastoral care in school. The role allows me to play a part in shaping and supporting students during their secondary journey, so they are prepared for their next steps. My experience has led to me working across the Trust and the local authority on pastoral matters, allowing the school to work collaboratively with other institutions in the area. In my spare time I like to play golf, run and spend time with my family.
